[A beautiful white fox sleeps on a stump outside the village. Most of the villagers are unsure of the fox, as white foxes aren't typical here and it might be a bad omen. But so far nothing has happened, so no one has tried to chase it off.

The only reason nothing has happened yet is because Yusuke is recovering from travel. Once he's had a good long nap, he plans on making this village part of his new kingdom and will be inspecting it.]

[Of course the fox would be regarded with suspicion. White is an omen of death on this side of the world. Something Takame knew well originally being from here, but that the man who brought him here marveled at.

They've been on the run from western authorities for a handful of years, Takame, his superior... former superior and his daughter. Unlike those two, Takame had a sense for magic even while being human. It was his job to track villages to flee and integrate into that had a magic pull for his former superior to study.

But his superior was an emotionally distant man, more concerned with his whims than his daughter who Takame was brought on to watch originally but then forbidden from seeing once his daughter grew more interested in the man a few years older. Disregarding his daughter's lack of interest in sex. And Takame's male leaning preferences.

They've been here a handful of weeks only and Takame was demanded to collect fire wood for their hearth. He was returning with it from among the trees when he happened upon that white fox, staring at it for a while and tilting his head curiously.]
